Much of the author’s research was done at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum where this event was held. Masters of the Air is the deeply personal story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions. He discussed the effectiveness of the bombing, the techniques used, the extremely harsh conditions inside the bombers, and the decisions regarding bombing targets. airmen had been killed during bombing missions.
